Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python (team's primary language).
• Deep experience building and operating AI/LLM-powered systems in production: agent architectures, multi-model orchestration, evaluation at scale.
• Track record designing technical systems that others build on; think platforms and patterns.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar).
• Experience taking products from zero to one and working with customers to scope and deliver technical work.
• Strong judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments; know when to move fast vs careful.
• Ability to lead technical direction without formal authority; influence across teams.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, engineers, and leadership.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for AI engineering across the team: architectures, evaluation, deployment patterns.
• Design the AI platform layer: shared frameworks, tool integrations, evaluation infra.
• Work with clients on complex engagements: define new AI capabilities for unautomated workflows.
• Decide production-readiness: balance speed and reliability in high-stakes domains.
• Handoff prototypes to product: generalize client-specific capabilities for all customers.
• Lead production quality for AI systems: observability, SLOs, and operations.
• Mentor AI and full-stack engineers; raise technical bar for the team.
• Translate client learnings into roadmap priorities.
