Addepar, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in Customer Facing Applied AI. This role is remote in the USA and focuses on building agentic AI systems embedded with client workflows. You will prototype, validate, and ship AI capabilities that scale across customers.

You’ll work closely with clients to understand their needs, design agent behavior, and integrate tools and data to deliver production-ready solutions. Experience with Python and LLMs is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python as the team’s primary language.
• Experience with LLM APIs including function calling and structured outputs.
• Comfort with SQL for data exploration and AI workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar).
• You've built something from zero to one. You’re drawn to deciding what to build, not just following specs.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered agents and tools end-to-end, from problem framing to production.
• Design and implement LLM integrations including prompt engineering and function calling.
• Define evaluation criteria and test harnesses for AI systems.
• Work directly with clients to validate AI behavior and iterate toward production quality.
• Partner with engineering teams to generalize client work into product features.
• Contribute to shared AI infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor production AI systems focusing on reliability, cost, and performance.
