Job description

That's why we're looking for a Client Events Specialist to contribute to initiatives that drive revenue growth by planning and executing a wide range of on-site and off-site client-focused business development events and other firm-sponsored programs.



The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Coordinating logistics for all assigned events, including conferences, trade shows, retreats, webinars, receptions, dinners, and other programs locally and nationally as needed

  • Coordinating tradeshow logistics and assisting with fulfillment needs

  • Coordinating participation for events, including venue selection, catering requirements, audiovisual, and related activities from development to execution

  • Coordinating production of event invitations and other marketing collateral as needed

  • Tracking and generating various reports on marketing activity

  • Running point with attorneys and clients on firm-hosted event programming and logistics

  • Maintaining project timelines, status reports, and budget for all assigned events

  • Creating post event reports to highlight KPIs and other relevant forms of data for each assigned event

  • Coordinating multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and business objectives

  • Working with team leadership on negotiating contracts with various suppliers and vendors

  • Assisting with tracking all events on the firms' marketing events calendar tool and assisting with year-end reporting

  • Creating customized registration processes using multiple technical platforms to support event goals

  • Analyzing events data to develop monthly and yearly reports that communicate client engagement


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of three years of events experience in a corporate environment, preferably a law firm, including experience supporting trade shows and large conferences

  • Ability to travel to various local and national marketing/firm events/meetings; travel can be regional and national, up to 30% of the time; travel is more heavily weighted regionally

  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support events

  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills

  • Proficiency with CRM databases, event management, Hive, and mass email distribution software, Microsoft Office applications, and familiarity with webinar technology

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work seamlessly with lawyers, staff, and vendors at various levels

  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous competing priorities, adapt quickly, and respond to a variety of pressures using sound judgment

  • Experience estimating event and other related costs and processing invoices

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds of materials and be able to walk and stand for long periods of time


Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC:


$70,000 - $85,000 per year


The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
