Job summary

Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge in Brainerd is seeking a Client Care Specialist to support clients in recovery within the Life Renewal/IOL program. This mission-driven role emphasizes relational care, observation, de-escalation, and accountability to help clients progress on their personal recovery goals.

You will be the daily presence on the floor, intervene early, liaise with staff, supervise medications, assist with intakes and discharges, and maintain a safe, compassionate environment that

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to meet at least one of the following: health/human services field study leading to BA/BS/AA; or one year of experience with vulnerable adults; or MH certified peer specialist per MN Statutes.

Responsibilities

• Provide client-centered support on living and programming floors.
• Serve as first point of contact for client questions and needs during shifts.
• Maintain a safe, calm floor environment and intervene early to prevent escalation.
• Observe client mood and behavior and report to the care team promptly.
• Assist in client intake and discharges and document in logs.
• Supervise and process medications and ensure safe self-administration.
• Safely operate MnTC vehicles for transports and outings.
• Provide spiritual support as requested and use trauma-informed care.
