Job summary

Dan Carter Advisors is seeking an experienced Client Accounting Specialist to join our growing CPA firm. In this client-facing role, you will provide recurring accounting services to multiple closely held businesses, prepare meaningful financial reports, assist with annual financial statements and income tax returns, and help clients address their day-to-day accounting needs.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in accounting, tax, or bookkeeping.
• Associate degree in accounting or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred/in progress.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or another cloud-based accounting platform.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Client-service mindset and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and follow through on responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in a public accounting or multi-client environment is a plus.

• Prepare accurate monthly financial & management reports
• Process some payroll (as needed by client mix)
• Monitor & manage accounts receivable balances

• Respond to client questions timely, with professionalism & sound judgment
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes & client deliverables

About the Role

Dan Carter Advisors is seeking an experienced Client Accounting Specialist to join our growing CPA firm. In this client-facing role, you will provide recurring accounting services to multiple closely held businesses, prepare meaningful financial reports, assist with annual financial statements and income tax returns, and help clients address their day-to-day accounting needs.

This position may be structured as either part-time or full-time, depending on the successful candidate’s interests and availability. Our employees have the flexibility to set their own work schedules while meeting client needs and established deadlines.

Our team members enjoy a high degree of autonomy while also collaborating in small teams. We do not impose charge-hour goals. Instead, we trust our team members to work efficiently, communicate openly, meet deadlines, and provide excellent service to our clients.

What You Bring

• At least three years of experience in accounting, tax, or bookkeeping
• An associate degree in accounting or a related field; a bachelor’s degree completed or in progress is preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or another cloud-based accounting platform
• A strong understanding of journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, & financial reporting
