West Coast CPA Group in Holland, Michigan, seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role processes payroll for multiple clients, handles wage calculations, taxes, and deductions, and supports income tax preparation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time for multiple clients.
• Calculate employee wages, overtime, taxes, and other payroll deductions.
• Process electronic payroll payments and direct deposits.
• Ensure payroll tax filings and reporting deadlines are met.
• Communicate with clients and employees regarding payroll questions and records.
• Prepare financial reports, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Provide support for Income Tax Preparation processes.

Schedule & Flexibility

• Part-time position, Full-time opportunities based on experience
• Availability Monday–Wednesday during normal business hours required
• Flexible scheduling available within those days

What You'll Do

• Process payroll accurately and on time for multiple clients
• Calculate employee wages, overtime, taxes, and other payroll deductions
• Process electronic payroll payments and direct deposits
• Ensure payroll tax filings and reporting deadlines are met
• Communicate with clients and employees regarding payroll questions and payroll records
• Obtain and maintain employee direct deposit and payroll information
• Prepare financial reports, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records
• Work closely with our accounting team to provide exceptional client service
• Provide support for Income Tax Preparation processes

What We're Looking For

Bonus Qualifications (Not Required)

• Experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns
• Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and tax preparation software
