Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Meat Department assistant to maintain pricing, stocking, and rotation of all meat merchandise. You will unload deliveries, price items, and keep shelves stocked according to tags.

Opportunities exist to assist in displays and meat bunker items while ensuring proper rotation of perishables and sanitation of the prep area. The role requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, stand for long periods, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pricing, stocking, and rotation of all merchandise in the meat department.
• Assist unloading and separating delivered merchandise and transport stock for storage.
• Open cartons, price items as needed, and keep shelves stocked according to tag allocations.
• Assist in building store displays and meat bunker items; rotate perishables and remove out-of-code products.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the meat preparation area and present the section neatly at shift end.

DEPARTMENT: MeatREPORTS TO: Meat ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARY:To maintain pricing, stocking, and rotation of all merchandise in the meat department.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assist in unloading and separating the delivered merchandise.Transport stock for storage to stock areas.Open cartons and price items (if needed) accurately.Keep store shelves fully stocked according to tag allocations.Assist in building store displays and meat bunker items.Keep perishable merchandise rotated and pull out-of-code product as needed.Control the level of damaged goods and handle them according to company policy.Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the meat preparation room during the work shift.Properly present assigned section prior to leaving at the end of scheduled work shift.Observe policies and procedures established for each department.Greet customers who come into the store and be observant.Maintain a neat appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Maintenance of price and protection program.Housekeeping of sales and back room areas.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product.Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
