Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Meat Department associate to maintain pricing, stocking, and rotation of all meat merchandise.

You will unload deliveries, transport stock to storage, open cartons and price items, and keep displays neat while rotating perishable goods and pulling out-of-code products. The role requires standing for long periods, following written and verbal instructions, and presenting a clean, organized section at shift end.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise and maintain rotation.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.
• Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
• Ability to lift up to seventy pounds at least forty percent of the time.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.

DEPARTMENT: MeatREPORTS TO: Meat ManagerFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARY:To maintain pricing, stocking, and rotation of all merchandise in the meat department.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Assist in unloading and separating the delivered merchandise.Transport stock for storage to stock areas.Open cartons and price items (if needed) accurately.Keep store shelves fully stocked according to tag allocations.Assist in building store displays and meat bunker items.Keep perishable merchandise rotated and pull out-of-code product as needed.Control the level of damaged goods and handle them according to company policy.Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the meat preparation room during the work shift.Properly present assigned section prior to leaving at the end of scheduled work shift.Observe policies and procedures established for each department.Greet customers who come into the store and be observant.Maintain a neat appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Maintenance of price and protection program.Housekeeping of sales and back room areas.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product.Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
