Job summary

Leidos is seeking a cleared WAN Engineer (2nd Shift) to engineer, operate, and sustain long-haul transport across DoD networks. Daily on-site work at Langley AFB with core hours 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Responsibilities include maintaining BGP routing, performing circuit migrations, and enforcing DISA STIGs to ensure mission-critical connectivity. The role requires 4+ years in enterprise WAN, DoD experience, and relevant certifications; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years experience or Master’s with 2+ years.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) plus CCNP Enterprise/ JNCIP-SP or equivalent routing certification preferred.
• 4+ years of hands-on enterprise WAN engineering and operations in a DoD environment.
• BGP: eBGP/iBGP config, route maps, prefix lists, AS-path filters, communities, MED, prepending.
• OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, VRFs, QoS, IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack.
• Cisco IOS-XE/IOS-XR/NX-OS and Juniper Junos routing platforms.
• Type 1 encryptors (TACLANE/KG-175, HAIPE) and DISA circuit lifecycle actions.
• DISA STIGs, RMF, IAVA remediation and change control processes.
• Wireshark/tcpdump, NetFlow troubleshooting across provider and government segments.
• Shift flexibility to evening and rotation (3:00 PM-11:00 PM) with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain BGP routing across enterprise WAN with peering and route policy enforcement.
• Install/migrate/upgrades and cutovers with rollback plans and minimal mission impact.
• Develop routing policy standards and topology diagrams; maintain authoritative docs.
• Apply DISA STIGs and support RMF artifacts and POA&M closure.
• Coordinate with DISA, NOC/SOC, transport providers and site personnel for maintenance and outages.
• Monitor WAN health with SolarWinds, NetFlow, SNMP; provide capacity recommendations.
