Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory's Detector Microfabrication Facility (DMF) is an ISO-5 cleanroom supporting superconducting device fabrication. The Facility Technician will inspect, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water systems, vacuum systems, and other facility support systems to ensure smooth, reliable operations.

You will work onsite, follow approved procedures, and collaborate with technicians, engineers, and scientists to diagnose issues, implement corrective actions, and sustain

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience maintaining mechanical, vacuum, water, or semiconductor facility systems.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to solve issues and report findings.
  • Ability to read procedures, manuals, drawings, and safety docs.
  • Experience in a cleanroom or similar controlled environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot vacuum systems and related components.
  • Support facility utilities for the cleanroom and tool suite.
  • Report abnormal conditions and assist with corrective actions.
  • Contribute to reliability improvements and parts planning.
