Block by Block is hiring a Part-time Cleaning Ambassador in Baltimore. The role focuses on maintaining clean, friendly street spaces, engaging with the public, and performing outdoor cleaning tasks across an assigned zone.

The job supports a flexible weekend schedule and offers weekly pay with pay advances. Applicants should be at least 18 years old, possess a HS diploma or GED, and be able to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Ability to walk/traverse for an eight-hour shift with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather (uniforms provided).
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide high visibility street-level cleaning across assigned zone.
• Engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting and provide directions or information.
• Remove litter, graffiti, posters, and related debris in streets, sidewalks, and alleys.
• Pull weeds at tree wells, cracks in sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Dampen wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces as needed.
• Complete daily task reports and communicate findings; report safety concerns.

Job Title: Part-time Cleaning Ambassador

Pay Range: $16.00to $16.00per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

Shift/Schedule:

• 7am-3:30pm
  Saturday, Sunday and Monday Only

What You'll Be Doing:

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed,which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
