Job summary

Block by Block is hiring a Cleaning Ambassador in Fort Worth, TX. You will maintain clean, safe public spaces, greet passersby, and perform outdoor cleaning duties across a designated zone. Training is provided, and you will work outdoors in all weather.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, being 18+, and basic English for reporting. Weekly pay, pay advances, PTO, free uniforms, and supportive programs are offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English for basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning tasks in the zone assigned with a positive, professional demeanor.
• Acknowledge and engage pedestrians with friendly greetings and provide directions.
• Remove litter and graffiti; pull weeds in sidewalks and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces; monitor for safety issues and report to Safety Ambassadors.
• Complete daily task reports in English.

Job Title: Cleaning Ambassador

Pay Range: $16.50to $16.50per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

What You'll Be Doing:

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed,which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
