Job summary

Block by Block is seeking a Cleaning Ambassador in Louisville, KY to keep streets clean and welcoming. You will perform cleaning tasks in your assigned zone, greet the public, and help deter litter while staying professional.

This role is outdoors, requires 18+, HS or GED, and the ability to work eight-hour shifts with breaks. Weekly pay, uniforms provided, and PTO are part of the package.

• Experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility street-level presence and perform cleaning tasks in assigned zone.
• Greet pedestrians and provide directions or city information.
• Remove litter, graffiti, and posters from outdoor areas.
• Pull weeds at tree wells, cracks, and vacant lots.
• Wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces; report tasks via daily reports.
• Monitor for safety issues and report to Safety Ambassadors.

Job Title: Cleaning Ambassador

Pay Range: $20.00to $20.00per hour

What You'll Be Doing:

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
