Job summary

Block by Block is seeking a Cleaning Ambassador to enhance public spaces by keeping areas clean, friendly, and safe. The role emphasizes outdoor work, strong customer interaction, and reliable reporting.

You will be paid weekly and may access pay advances; uniforms are provided, and benefits and PTO are part of the package. The position targets individuals who are outgoing, able to work weekends, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Experience is preferred, but not required; training provided.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (uniforms provided).
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of cleaning tasks in assigned zones while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor.
• Acknowledge and engage pedestrians with friendly greetings and provide directions or city information.
• Remove litter from streets, sidewalks, and alleys; remove graffiti and posters where present.
• Pull weeds at tree wells and cracks; damp wipe outdoor surfaces and straighten lids and boxes.
• Complete basic daily reports of tasks in English.

Job Title: Cleaning Ambassador

Pay Range: $17.00to $17.00per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Weekend availability REQUIRED
• Between hours of 7:00am and 1:00pm

What You'll Be Doing:

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
