Job summary

Fordham University in New York is seeking a Custodian to support cleaning and portering across the campus. Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor at Rose Hill, you will perform routine cleaning, trash removal, mail delivery, and light moving tasks.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of cleaning experience. Ability to read English and follow instructions, plus knowledge of floor machines and handheld tools, are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of effective and safe usage of all floor machines.
• Knowledge of usage of handheld tools.

Responsibilities

• Provides clearing and portering services in University buildings.
• Removes recyclables and trash in accordance with University procedures.
• Delivers mail in the buildings.
• Rearranges furniture and does move jobs when requested to do so.
• Keeps building entrances and perimeters free of snow, ice, leaves, garbage, etc.
• Must sign in and out for all keys.
• Assumes responsibilities for all types of floor and carpet work.
• Performs other duties as required.

Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor at Rose Hill, this position provides cleaning and portering services throughout the University complex.
This position requires work hours Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

Provides clearing and portering services in both academic and residential University buildings.
Removes recyclables and trash in accordance with University procedures.
Delivers mail in the buildings.
Rearranges furniture and does move jobs when requested to do so.
Keeps building entrances and perimeters free of snow, ice, leaves, garbage, etc. as the need arises.
Must sign in and out for all keys.
Assumes responsibilities for all types of floor and carpet work.
Performs other duties as required.
