Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking a customer-focused Technology Support Specialist I to support technology-enabled learning environments across campus.

You will provide frontline technical support for classroom and audiovisual technologies, assist with installation and maintenance of instructional systems, and help ensure reliable technology experiences for faculty, staff, and students.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of information technology systems, applications, and networks.
• General knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting and related technology support practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication to work with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to document issues and resolutions clearly.
• Experience with AV control systems is preferred.
• Experience preparing technical diagrams and documentation for tech projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and consultation for faculty, staff, and students to resolve technology issues and optimize system performance.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and audiovisual technologies in classrooms and other instructional spaces.
• Deliver user training and develop support materials that help maximize technology adoption and effectiveness.
• Configure systems to meet instructional needs while ensuring reliable performance and connectivity.
• Install, configure, and test audiovisual equipment and control systems.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues and campus partners to support instructional technology initiatives.
