Asheville City Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant for Isaac Dickson Elementary in Asheville, NC. This ten-month, full-time role supports teachers and students through group and individualized instruction, materials preparation, and classroom supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma plus college credit or a degree; confidentiality, behavior support, and data-entry duties are part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and a two or four-year college degree or 48 semester hours of college credit from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Experience supporting teachers and students in a classroom setting is preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work under supervision within a school environment.

Responsabilités

• Works with the teacher to support the instructional plan of the teacher and reinforces material with groups.
• Maintains confidentiality in matters pertaining to the student and class.
• Serves in place of the teacher when requested by the administration.
• Prepares instructional materials and distributes/collects them; supports lesson delivery.
• Conducts clerical tasks and manages health records data as assigned.
• Provides proctoring during testing and assists with attendance checks.
• Supports behavior management and safety of students in all areas of the school.
