Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant (IA) to support teachers and students across elementary, middle, or high school settings. The IA will assist in instructional activities, adapt strategies for diverse learners, and help maintain a safe and productive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED and may meet ESSA criteria for Title I schools. Position may require occasional evenings or weekends and working up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• For Title I schools: Six semester hours of coursework in childhood education or two years of work experience in a childhood setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to teachers and students in classrooms.
• Assists in planning and organizing instructional activities and materials.
• Maintains a safe, encouraging learning environment and supports FERPA compliance.
