Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six semester hours of coursework in childhood education (for Title I schools) or two years of work experience in a childhood setting.
• CPI certification may be required depending on school and student population.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional and administrative support, assisting teachers and maintaining a safe, encouraging classroom environment.
• Aids in planning, organizing, and preparing materials aligned with lesson plans.
• Demonstrates professional and technical skills to support the school program.
• Works with individual students or groups in various classrooms as needed.
• Participates in district staff development and ongoing professional growth.
• Maintains positive disposition, uses good judgment, and remains calm with students.
• May conduct vision and hearing screenings and enters results in the student information system.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
