Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at Lincoln Park Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Instructional Aide assists the Teacher with classroom activities, helps promote positive student behaviors, and supports a safe, constructive school climate. You will aid with events, use classroom technology, and help carry out school policies and routines as part of ACCEL's educational mission.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• BCI/FBI check completed.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Understanding and ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports student and parent relations.
• Assists with school activities and events (faculty meetings, assemblies, chaperoning).
• Performs clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the Teacher in the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classroom, lunchroom and other areas.
• Adheres to school philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties as assigned (field trips, duty, lunch duty).
