Job summary

ACCEL Schools' South Columbus Preparatory Academy – German Village in Columbus, Ohio, is hiring an Instructional Aide to assist teachers, support student learning, promote positive behavior, and help create a safe, respectful classroom climate for students in EK-8.

Duties include supporting lessons, helping plan activities, assisting with family events, handling light clerical tasks, maintaining classroom cleanliness, and using classroom technology to enhance instruction within the school’s

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Paraprofessional’s Exam completed.
• Proficiency in MS Office is required.
• BCI/FBI background check must be completed.
• Ability to meet educational standards and handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports the Teacher in student/parent relations.
• Assists with school activities, including parent nights, faculty meetings, assemblies, fundraisers, and field trips.
• Performs clerical duties, including grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the Teacher in the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom and other school areas.
• Understands and implements the school’s philosophy and mission statement.
• Other duties as assigned, including field trips and duty coverage.
