Job summary

The Guidance Center is seeking a Site Aide to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in our Michigan-based program. This 12-month, part-time role offers 28 hours per week in a school-like setting.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, supervising children, handling paperwork, and participating in meetings/trainings. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED and strong communication and mobility skills to support children and families effectively.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, their parents/caregivers, and staff.
• Must have good physical mobility and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for extended periods and move between seated, floor, and standing positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom management and daily routine for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
• Supervise children to maintain staff ratios during bathrooms, naptime, and related activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
• Complete necessary paperwork and reports.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
