Job summary

EightCAP, Inc. is seeking a Classroom Aide to support continuity of early childhood education when regular staff are unavailable. You will help keep the classroom safe, engaging, and orderly, ensuring smooth operation during the absence of regular staff.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, modeling healthy habits, and maintaining records. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role supports Head Start and Early Head Start, with travel between sites as needed in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with early childhood programs and food service preferred.
• Must complete all required state and federal background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment for Early Head Start and Head Start.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with children and families.
• Model healthy eating habits and positive behavior.
• Prepare meals and snacks per menus; maintain cleanliness of meal areas.
• Follow Head Start, LARA, CACFP regulations and reporting requirements.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records and report suspected child abuse/neglect.
• Communicate positively with children, families, staff and partners.
• Collaborate with parents, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned.
