Chicago Public Schools in Chicago’s Far South Side is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and students. The position involves supervising students, assisting with instructional activities, handling basic clerical tasks, and providing tutoring under teacher supervision at George Washington School.

The role requires a valid TASN paraprofessional license (ISBE) or completion of the 60 semester hours, along with strong English and math basics and good communication skills.

Qualificações

• Must possess a valid TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) or obtain after meeting the 60 semester hours requirement or paraprofessional exam (Work Keys or Parapro).
• 60 semester hours of college credit or equivalent paraprofessional exam required to qualify.
• Good knowledge of English grammar and spelling, basic math, and familiarity with CPS rules and regulations.
• Ability to work with school-aged children and to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise students during lunchroom and playground activities.
• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and bulletin boards.
• Help with classroom organization and distribution of educational materials.
• Provide tutoring support under teacher supervision and assist with homework collection.
