Job summary

The Classroom Technology & Media Specialist at Yale University supports faculty, students, and staff by delivering audio-visual services for classes, labs, and events. Based mainly at 212 York Street, you will operate, troubleshoot, and maintain AV equipment, with flexible hours during peak seasons.

You will train users, coordinate with ITS and campus partners, manage documentation, and supervise student assistants across about 35 classrooms.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced AV environments and customer service.
• Ability to learn new technology and adapt to campus needs.
• Proven multitasking across AV requests campus-wide.

Responsibilities

• Consults with faculty to assess classroom and instructional tech needs.
• Develops solutions to support pedagogical goals and interoperability.
• Provides instruction and training on existing equipment.
• Coordinates course support and digital recording of lectures using CMS and PowerPoint/Keynote.
• Communicates issues within Media Services or with service providers.
• Manages daily support for assigned classroom zones (~35 classrooms).
• Maintains proficiency in AV tech and applies it to systems usage.
• Coordinates AV support for university events with ITS partners and service providers.
• Develops and edits departmental documentation and tracks service requests.
• Maintains equipment inventory and repair records.
• Oversees student assistants and coordinates work assignments.
