The Salvation Army Southern California seeks a Production Assistant 2 in the Production department. This non-exempt role supports daily routing operations, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring safe handling of donations with adherence to safety standards.

Key responsibilities include route fidelity, timely completion, PPE use, and on-site guidance to a rehab program-trained helper. Strong communication and driving record are required of the candidate.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are essential.
• Strong time management and customer service skills are required.
• Ability to operate equipment used for daily routing information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and avoid deviations unless directed by supervision.
• Manage time to complete routes within the approved schedule, 100% completion daily.
• Safely load/unload the assigned truck and assist with others as needed.
• Handle donated materials with proper safety procedures and PPE.
• Train and supervise truck helper, including adherence to program rules.
• Ensure pre/post checks are completed and equipment is secured for transport.
• Provide courteous customer service and report donor issues to dispatch.
• Report all accidents and comply with DOT and state regulations; attend safety meetings.
• Adhere to meal/rest breaks and any additional duties from supervisor.
