Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Production Assistant 1 in a non-exempt role under the Production department. The position requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma, and strong time-management and customer-service skills.

Pay rate is $20.60 per hour. Responsibilities include following routing directions, loading/unloading, safety procedures, and ensuring courteous donor interactions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong time management and customer service skills are essential.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities expected.
• Ability to operate route information equipment used for daily routing.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and stay on route as directed.
• Manage time to complete routes within the shift.
• Safely load and unload assigned truck and assist others as needed.
• Handle donated material with proper safety procedures and PPE.
• Supervise truck helper while on duty and set an example.
• Perform pre- and post-checks on equipment and report issues.
• Maintain courteous customer service and report donor problems to dispatch.
• Report accidents or safety infractions to supervisor promptly.
• Adhere to DOT regulations, state laws, and meal/rest breaks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
