Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California in Oakland seeks a Production Assistant 2 – Class A to support fleet operations and donation-driven logistics. Responsibilities include safe loading/unloading, supervising a truck helper (in rehab), and ensuring accurate Bag & Tag procedures while maintaining courteous customer service.

• Experience using electronics for daily route information.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily routing directions and stay on route as directed.
• Ensure routes are 100% completed within the approved schedule.
• Safely load and unload assigned truck and assist others as needed.
• Handle donated materials following safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Train and supervise truck helper in their rehabilitation program context.
• Perform Bag & Tag procedures as instructed by Supervisor.
• Complete pre- and post-checks and report issues to Supervisor.
• Provide courteous customer service and report donor problems to dispatch.
• Report accidents and maintain a safe driving record; attend safety meetings.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and state/local laws; observe meal/rest breaks.
• Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor or Director of Production.
