Job summary

Yarde Metals is seeking a Class A Driver to join our fleet and operations team. A Class A Truck Driver will safely operate a commercial truck to transport and deliver material to customers from the 999 Motor Parkway location.

The position is first shift (7:00AM-3:30PM) with hourly pay in the $27.97-$33.53 range. Responsibilities include safe driving, loading/unloading, and ensuring loads meet weight and material specifications.

Qualifications

• This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position and involves operating heavy machinery.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Class A driver’s license and medical card required.
• Clean MVR is required.
• Six months minimum CDL driving experience preferred.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

• SAFETY FIRST!

• Load and unload material.
• Secure loads and verify weight limits.
• Verify material condition and quantities during loading/unloading.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs.
• Report overages, shortages and damaged material.
• Assist with loading/unloading at delivery/pickup points.
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Represent the company professionally.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a human performance evaluation to meet the physical requirements of the job (lifting, pushing, pulling up to 70 lbs. etc.)
