Job summary

Yarde Metals, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to join our fleet and operations team in Hauppauge, NY. A Class A driver safely operates a commercial truck to transport and deliver material to customers.

The role emphasizes safety, loading/unloading, and compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations while maintaining a clean driving record and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery.
• Valid, current Class A driver's license and medical card required.
• Clean MVR.
• Six months minimum CDL driving experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, physical, and meet physical requirements.
• Ability to pass a human performance evaluation for lifting, pushing, pulling up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial vehicle safely.
• Load and unload material.
• Secure loads within weight limits.
• Verify material condition and quantities during loading/unloading.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs.
• Report overages, shortages, and damaged material.
• Assist with loading/unloading at delivery/pickup points.
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
• Represent the company professionally.

Job Responsibilities

• SAFETY FIRST!
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle.
• Load and unload material.
• Secure loads and assure they are within weight limits.
• Verify material condition and quantities during the loading/unloading process.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs.
• Report overages, shortages, and damaged material.
• Assist with loading and unloading material at points of delivery and pickup
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor or group leader.
• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.
