Job summary

Veritiv is seeking a professional Truck Driver to join our team in a fast-paced environment. You will drive to multiple destinations, ensuring cargo safety and accurate delivery, while keeping strict truck logs and communicating with dispatch.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, 12+ months of driving experience, and a minimum age of 21. Forklift certification is preferred but not required, with comprehensive benefits offered by Veritiv.

Qualifications

• Must observe all Department of Transportation and driving regulations with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drive to various destinations with approx. 15-20 stops daily.
• Maintain physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage; safety is primary.
• Maintain truck log, per state and federal regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and suppliers (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water).
• Transport items from warehouse to plant or pick up items for shipment (Pickup/Delivery).
• Maintain phone contact with supervisor/dispatch for pickup and delivery instructions.
• Prepare receipts and collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges.
• Pick up product at customers and suppliers and check quantities for accuracy.
• Operate auxiliary equipment mounted on trucks (hydraulics, hoists).
• Convey material between receiving/production areas to storage or other areas using machinery.
• Sort and place materials on racks/shelves/bins per predetermined sequence.
