Job summary

Veritiv is seeking a dependable driver to handle daily pickup and delivery routes with 15-20 stops, ensuring cargo safety and accurate documentation. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, a clean driving record, and age 21+. Forklift certification is a plus but not essential.

The position emphasizes safety, timely communication with dispatch, and accurate handling of goods from warehouse to destination, supporting our packaging and distribution operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record per DOT and DMV regulations.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL.
• Position requires a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Forklift certified preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Drive to various destinations with approx. 15-20 stops daily.
• Maintain physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage; safety first.
• Maintain truck log, per state and federal regulations.
• Inspect truck equipment and suppliers such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Transport items from warehouse to plant or pick up items for shipment Pickup/Delivery.
• Maintain phone contact with supervisor/dispatch for instructions.
• Prepare receipts and collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges when required.
• Select up product at customers and suppliers and check delivered product and quantities for accuracy.
• Operate auxiliary equipment mounted on trucks such as hydraulics, hoists, etc.
• Move materials from receiving/production areas to storage or other areas using equipment.
• Sort and place materials on racks per predetermined sequence by size/type/color/product code.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.
• Mark materials with identifiers and record quantities received or distributed.
