Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a full-time Driver based in Morrison, TN to transport and deliver building materials to customers and construction sites using a tractor-trailer. This role emphasizes safe driving, reliable customer service, and accurate record-keeping.

The ideal candidate holds a Valid Class A CDL, has 2 years of tractor-trailer flatbed experience (winter driving preferred), and can pass DOT drug and medical exams.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience (winter driving).
• Valid Medical Card.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver building materials to customers, distribution centers and job sites by tractor-trailer.
• Assist in unloading using a Moffett and deliver to customers.
• Maintain records required for compliance with DOT/state regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and keep vehicle clean.
• Comply with DOT guidelines and federal/state regulations.
• 2-3 overnight runs per week.

Base pay rate is $28.00 per hour

Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday through Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities.
• Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer's location and/ or return products
• Deliver material in 'route truck/multi-drop' fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
• Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact
• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
• 2-3 overnight runs per week
• May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
• High School diploma or GED required
• Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Valid Medical Card
• Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
• Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
