Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines, Inc. in Medford, OR is seeking a Class A CDL Delivery Driver for local routes with home daily. Monday–Friday day shift with overtime after 8 hours. The P&D Driver will pick up and deliver freight locally, provide excellent customer service, and maintain accurate paperwork.

Requirements include 21+, CDL A, 1 year of verifiable driving experience, DOT medical, and a clean driving record. Hazmat endorsements are a plus and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL.
• At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Clean driving record (no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in last 3 years).
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and move freight safely using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Note and record exceptions in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Deliver to multiple customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain paperwork and electronic records (delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, etc.).
• Safely handle freight in varying weather and business conditions.
• Meet the Company's reliability standards (dependability).
• Be able to work various shifts and travel to nearby terminals as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The P&D Driver safely picks up and delivers freight throughout the local service area while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include operating material-handling equipment, inspecting and documenting shipments, maintaining accurate paperwork and electronic records, and safely handling freight in varying weather and business conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating equipment and moving freight in a safe and efficient manner using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.


• Responsible for noting and recording exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.


• Responsible for multiple deliveries to customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor network.


• Maintain required information throughout the use of electronic devices.


• Management of paperwork: i.e., check of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading, and handling instructions.


• Responsible decision‑making skills to maximize efficiency while maintaining customer expectations.


• Ability to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees; to include dependability.


• Ability to chain as needed and work in inclement weather preferred.


• Availability to work various shifts as needed to accommodate business levels.


• Ability to travel to nearby terminals.


• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Preferred but not required:

• Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements, we require within 45 days of hiring


• Doubles/triples & chaining experience is preferred but not required.
