Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines, Inc. is hiring a CDL Class A Truck Driver for local Pick-Up & Delivery in the Eugene, Oregon area. The role supports the Oak Harbor network with customer-focused delivery and freight handling.

The driver will operate equipment, document shipments, and ensure accurate records while working a Monday–Friday schedule with a 9:00 AM start. Hazmat/ Tanker endorsements are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL.
• At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Clean driving record: no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in last 3 years.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/managers.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and move freight safely using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Record shipment details and ensure accurate paperwork and electronic records.
• Deliver to multiple customers within the local service area while maintaining high customer service.
• Maintain required information on electronic devices and paperwork (bills of lading, delivery receipts).
• Meet the company reliability standards and handle weather-related challenges.

The P&D Driver safely picks up and delivers freight throughout the local service area while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include operating material-handling equipment, inspecting and documenting shipments, maintaining accurate paperwork and electronic records, and safely handling freight in varying weather and business conditions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating equipment and moving freight in a safe and efficient manner using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Responsible for noting and recording exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Responsible for multiple deliveries to customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain required information throughout the use of electronic devices.
• Management of paperwork: i.e., check of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading, and handling instructions.
• Responsible decision-making skills to maximize efficiency while maintaining customer expectations.
• Ability to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees; to include dependability.
• Ability to chain as needed and work in inclement weather preferred.
• Availability to work various shifts as needed to accommodate business levels.
• Ability to travel to nearby terminals.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

Preferred but not required

• Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements, we require within 45 days of hiring
• Doubles/triples & chaining experience is preferred but not required.
• Medical, dental, vision – You choose which plan suits you and our family.
• Employee pays up to 2% of gross income.
• Employee and Family pays up to 4% of gross income.
• 401K match of 100% on the first 5% contribution.
• Accrue 80 hours of PTO within the first 11 months.
