Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn transporting food products to customers across routes, with safety-first training and DOT compliance. You will begin with an onboarding program, ride-along with a trainer, and progressively handle deliveries on local and overnight routes.

The role requires a CDL A, a clean MVR, and ability to pass background checks and a DOT health exam. A sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.
• Valid CDL A.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee program.
• Ride with driver trainer and assist deliveries.
• Perform safety checks and DOT inspections.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety policies.
• Deliver orders on schedule; unload and secure freight; obtain signatures.
• Maintain paperwork and log hours of service.
