Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to join our delivery team. You will learn to haul freight and operate tractor trailers while assisting designated driver trainers with deliveries and routes.

You will communicate professionally with customers and coworkers, perform safety checks, and participate in the training program to qualify as a full driver. Training period includes learning routes and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.
• Internal PFG Candidates: 1 year of service in good standings as outlined in the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• Entry Level Hire: 0-6 months experience with a CDL A.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure new one.

Responsibilities

• Successfully completes Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required.
• Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
• Unloads products from the trailer and stores them at customer locations.
• Performs safety checks and inspects tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Verify delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures.
