Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking entry-level driver trainees to learn Tractor/Trailer delivery across local and interstate routes. You will handle loading, unloading, routing, and customer interactions, with a focus on safety and compliance.

You’ll start with a guaranteed daily earnings baseline and have potential to earn substantially more through case, mile, and stop pay, with occasional overnight layovers and company-paid hotel accommodations and a food stipend.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
• High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent.
• Valid CDL A.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program.
• Rides-with and assists driver trainer in executing deliveries as required.
• Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for proper loading and secured freight; complete paperwork.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to schedule.
• Unload products, verify delivery with customer, obtain signatures.
• Ensure equipment secured at all times.
• Complete daily hours-of-service log and related paperwork.
• Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
