Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is hiring entry-level Workers' Compensation Claims Adjusters. This is a great opportunity to start a career in insurance and claims, with no prior Workers' Compensation claims handling experience required.

You'll participate in a structured training program designed to teach the fundamentals of claims handling, including evaluation, compensability, medical management, benefit delivery, and return-to-work practices.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree and experience in customer service or service-oriented environment preferred.
• Candidates without a degree must have a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of relevant insurance experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Learn to evaluate claims and determine compensability in accordance with applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Communicate with employers, injured workers, medical providers, and other parties throughout the claim process.
• Authorize and monitor medical treatment and coordinate care with providers.
• Support return-to-work efforts and the timely delivery of appropriate benefits.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of claim activity.
• Develop the skills needed to independently manage Workers’ Compensation claims as training progresses.
