Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is hiring entry-level Workers' Compensation Claims Adjusters. This is a great entry point into insurance and claims, with a structured training program teaching claims handling fundamentals, including evaluation, compensability, medical management and return-to-work practices.

You will help injured workers navigate recovery while building a career in claims; no prior workers' compensation experience is required at start.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree and experience in customer service or service-oriented environment preferred.
• Candidates without an associate or bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of relevant insurance experience.
• Licensing requirement: active adjuster license or willingness to obtain and maintain all required state licenses. The company will support licensing.

Responsibilities

• Learn to evaluate Workers' Compensation claims as training progresses.
• Communicate with employers, injured workers, medical providers and other parties throughout the claim process.
• Authorize and monitor medical treatment and coordinate care with providers.
• Support return-to-work efforts and timely delivery of benefits.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of claim activity.
