Job summary

Erie Insurance is seeking a leadership role in Claims to supervise and develop a growing team of Field Property Adjusters. The position requires residing within 50 miles of the Murrysville, Pittsburgh, or Johnstown Branch Offices and is primarily an in-office role with a remote work option allowed by policy.

Essential duties include interviewing and training staff, reviewing files, ensuring proper reserves, and guiding claim strategy. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with six years of claims experience, or an Associate degree with four years, or a Bachelor’s degree with two years.
• Experience using estimating software is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains, and directs personnel.
• Reviews claims on a regular basis in accordance with company policy and reserves.
• Resolves coverage questions within designated authority and provides guidance.
• Maintains knowledge of adjusters’ files and statutory laws.
• Assists in developing claims procedures and handles claim inquiries.
• Serves on the Catastrophe Team and may travel on short notice.
