Job summary

Starr Companies in Chicago, IL is seeking a diligent Claims Operations Support Specialist to assist with modernization initiatives and manage claims processing for all profit centers. This in-office role requires you to handle First Notice of Loss intake, process escalations, and generate production reports.

You will interact with claim managers, brokers, and underwriters, perform quality checks and training, and maintain accurate records in Claims Systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent; 1-2 years in commercial insurance claims support.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assess First Notice of Loss for setup in claims system or distribution to third parties.
• Assist with processing Five Sigma escalations.
• Research policy and client information in Claims/Underwriting systems.
• Create claims in Claims Systems for various lines of business.
• Issue acknowledgement letters and other claims correspondence.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties.
• Create loss runs from internal systems.
• Create production/analysis reports.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements and product development as needed.
• Communicate with claim managers, brokers, underwriters as needed for proper processing of claims.
• Peer Training and conducting Quality Checks (Five Sigma vs. Claims Enterprise)
• Other duties as required.
