Job summary

Starr is seeking a Claims Intake (Claims Operations Support Specialist) to join our team. This in-office role supports the Claims Modernization initiative and handles first notice of loss, claims data entry, and production reporting from our Chicago or Buckhead offices.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree or equivalent experience with 1–2 years in a commercial insurance claims support environment, excellent communication, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Proficient communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of the insurance industry or technical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Receives and assess First Notice of Loss for setup in claims system or distribution to third parties.
• Assist with processing Five Sigma escalations.
• Research policy and client information in Claims/Underwriting systems.
• Creates claims in Claims Systems for various lines of business.
• Issue acknowledgement letters and other claims correspondence.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external parties.
• Create loss runs from internal systems.
• Creating production/analysis reports.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements and product development as needed.
• Communicate with claim managers, brokers, underwriters as needed for proper processing of claims.
• Peer Training and conducting Quality Checks (Five Sigma vs. Claims Enterprise)
• Other duties as required.
