Job summary

Envista Forensics in Memphis, TN, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our forensic team. The role combines field investigations (about 40%) with office analysis to deliver excellent project results and client service.

Requirements: BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, 5–7 years of design experience across residential, commercial and industrial settings, and PE preferred (EIT considered). 25–30% travel; ability to work in inclement weather and at height required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• PE licensure preferred; EIT may be considered.
• 5–7 years design experience across residential, commercial and industrial settings.
• Field investigation experience is a plus.
• 25–30%+ travel.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and at height (roofs/scaffolding).
• Ability to manage multiple projects to tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in civil/structural fields within residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Analyze the failure of building systems, determine the cause of failures, evaluate the quality of construction or reviews design or maintenance procedures.
• Perform field investigations, leads multi-party examinations and documentation of damaged property.
• Research failure modes and code requirements as needed, prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate.
• Prepare reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of the damages to our clients.
• Manage/work with multi-disciplinary teams on large and complex assignments.
