Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Transmission & Distribution group with standard engineering tasks, design updates, and project assistance.

Responsibilities include filing, data entry, preparing PowerPoint presentations, research, data analysis, and presenting solutions to project concerns. A 3.0 GPA and ABET awareness are preferred; candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
