Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas is seeking a qualified Civil/Structural Engineer to support new project work focused on civil and structural design, including foundations and enclosure design. You will work with a team to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while adhering to codes and standards.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural) with 4+ years of experience; EIT is preferred. Proficiency with SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with focus in Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a related engineering field; EIT preferred.
• Familiarity with ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318 desired.
• Experience with Earthquake Engineering concepts and tools such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD is desired.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials; strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to manage databases, PM tools, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and structural analysis for steel structures and concrete foundations.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and reports under guidance of senior engineers.
• Collect, review, interpret, and integrate design requirements from customers, suppliers, and parent company.
• Prepare and review engineering technical requirements to support proposals and bids.
• Review customer specifications and prepare clarifications and deviations.
• Prepare budgets, bids, technical and commercial requirements.
• Plan and review deliverable schedules, including project documentation and equipment.
• Work with suppliers to develop budgets and pricing estimates.
• Ensure arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements.
• Interface with internal and external teams to ensure design interface information is accurate.
• Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformances and improve quality.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.
