Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to support civil/structural design and analysis for steel structures and foundations. You will work with our engineering team to deliver safe, compliant, and innovative solutions for energy projects.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural), 2+ years of experience, and familiarity with structural codes. EIT is preferred; travel up to 10% is expected. Strong MS Office and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering is required.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related engineering field; EIT preferred.
Familiarity with ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318 is desired.
Experience with Earthquake Engineering concepts and tools such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD is desired.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, procedures, or regulations; ability to write reports and present information.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply fractions, percentages, and proportions.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering design and structural analysis for steel structures and concrete foundations.
Prepare calculations, drawings, and reports under senior engineers guidance.
Collect and interpret design requirements from customers, suppliers, and parent company.
Prepare technical requirements for project proposals and bids.
Review customer specs and prepare clarifications and deviations.
Prepare budgets, bids, and project documentation.
Plan and review deliverable schedules and equipment documentation.
Coordinate with suppliers on budgets and pricing estimates.
Ensure foundation and interface information meets requirements.
Interface with internal and external teams to ensure design accuracy.
Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformances and improve quality.
Carry out other responsibilities as assigned to meet project needs.
