Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil/Stormwater Engineering Intern in Orlando, Florida to support our engineering team on stormwater and civil infrastructure projects, including drainage improvements, flood mitigation, and site development.

You will work with experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, design calculations, and project documentation, contributing to real projects that improve drainage and resilience for communities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Interest in stormwater management and civil infrastructure.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles from coursework or projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering design, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, and analyses for civil and stormwater projects.
• Support the planning and design of stormwater collection and conveyance systems and drainage improvements.
• Assist with runoff calculations, drainage assessments, and basic modeling.
• Support preparation of drawings, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Assist with evaluation of existing drainage systems and flood mitigation solutions.
• Conduct research on engineering standards, stormwater regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Develop charts, figures, maps, tables, and other deliverables.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction observations.
• Help prepare technical memoranda, reports, and permit applications.
• Support quality control reviews of drawings and documents.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers across phases.
