Job summary

Tetra Tech in Orlando, FL is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineering Intern or Engineer-in-Training to support the Water/Wastewater team on municipal projects. You will assist with design, permitting, and construction activities across collection systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities.

Ideal for students or early-career engineers, this role offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to real-world infrastructure upgrades and sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience, including internships or coursework.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in municipal water and wastewater engineering.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, hydraulic calculations, and analyses for water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Research engineering standards and industry practices.
• Develop charts, figures, maps, tables, and other supporting materials for deliverables.
• Assist evaluating design alternatives and potential engineering solutions.
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction observation activities.
• Support the preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and permit applications.
• Assist with QA/QC reviews of engineering documents.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers through project phases.
