Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. in Miami, FL, is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern / Early Career Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team. You will work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on exposure to projects that support communities where we live and work.

This role offers the chance to apply coursework to real-world challenges while developing skills in civil design, calculations, construction documentation, and project delivery with mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Senior year of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or recently graduated from an ABET-accredited program.
• Academic coursework in civil/environmental engineering, water resources, hydraulics, hydrology, utilities, or infrastructure design.
• Interest in pursuing FE examination and EIT certification.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS or hydraulic modeling tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Support projects involving treatment facilities, pipelines, conveyance systems, pump stations, and utilities.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses under supervision.
• Assist with preparation of drawings, plans, specs, reports, and technical documentation.
• Support development and review of design documents per standards and requirements.
• Use engineering software to support calculations, drawings, and deliverables.
• Assist with data collection, field investigations, and evaluation of existing infrastructure.
• Participate in site visits and field assignments as needed.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other disciplines on project tasks.
• Assist with construction-phase activities including review of docs and field observations.
• Develop understanding of applicable design standards, codes, and industry practices.
• Participate in technical training and professional development.
